Xu Yanling is a playwright, stage director, and a teacher in the Theatre Department of Chinese Culture University in Taiwan and one of the permanent directors of the Shakespeare's Wild Sisters' Group. Since 1997, she has worked with theatre companies including Performance Workshop, Creative Society and Mr. Wing. She has been awarded by the Asian Cultural Council and Taishin Arts Awards for her poetic theatre works, which are concerned with women, music, social reflection, physical expression and new text, as well as with cross-media experiments.
