One of China's most acclaimed theatre directors, Meng Jinghui is most known for his iconoclastic experimental works which are highly influential among the young vanguard of Chinese theatre and film directors. Meng is a director at the National Theatre of China and is well known for his creative and versatile arts, which have opened up new aspects of contemporary Chinese theatre. Meng’s most recent work includes To Live, Guns, Lies and Roses, Naughty Kids’ Carnival, Invisible Love, Hitler's Belly, Romeo & Juliet, Two Dogs, Metamorphosis of Butterfly, Soft, Three Oranges' Love, Amber, The Murder of Hanging Garden, Liebe ist kälter als der Tod, An Exotic Encounter, The Flower in the Mirror & the Moon on the Water, New Love Concept, Bedbug, Don Quijote de la Mancha, Rhinoceros in Love, Cien Años de Soledad, The Accidental Death of an Anarchist and Si Fan. Meng is also Artistic Director of the Beijing International Fringe Festival and Beijing Beehive Theatre.
Since 2013, Meng Jinghui co-founded Wuzhen Theatre Festival with Chen Xianghong, Huang Lei and Stan Lai.
